How Our New Bosch DCI 700 Bench Sets the Standard
(Common Google searches: “injector testing Cairns”, “diesel injector diagnostics”, “Bosch DCI700 test bench”, “common rail injector problems FNQ”)
If your diesel is idling rough, smoking, or using too much fuel, you might be wondering whether the injectors are at fault.
But guessing isn’t enough — modern common-rail injectors need precision testing under controlled conditions to know what’s really happening inside.
That’s why Cairns Diesel Service has invested in the latest Bosch DCI 700 injector test bench — the most advanced system available in Australia for testing Denso, Bosch, Delphi, and Continental injectors.
It’s the same equipment used in Bosch’s own authorized remanufacturing facilities worldwide.
What is the Bosch DCI 700?
The Bosch DCI 700 is a fully automated common-rail injector test bench that uses high-pressure electronic control, clean-room fluid handling, and Bosch-certified software to measure injector performance with extreme accuracy.
It runs each injector through a complete series of tests at different load and pressure points, checking:
- Injection quantity and return flow balance
- Response times and electronic solenoid control
- Leakage and sealing integrity
- Pilot, main, and post-injection patterns
- Spray uniformity and correction-code generation
Every test cycle produces a detailed print-out showing whether the injector meets factory tolerances.
Why proper injector testing is essential
Common-rail systems operate at up to 2,500 bar of fuel pressure. Even a small deviation in flow or timing can cause:
- Poor fuel economy
- White or black smoke
- Knock or rough idle
- Excess soot loading and DPF problems
- Power loss and misfire codes
Traditional bench testing or ultrasonic cleaning can’t tell you any of that. Only a DCI-series test bench can simulate real ECU-controlled conditions.
With our Bosch DCI 700, we can test both solenoid and piezo injectors — including the latest Euro 6 automotive and heavy-duty units.
How CDS uses the DCI 700 in our workshop
At Cairns Diesel Service, every injector that comes through our door follows a structured process:
- Visual inspection and ID — check part numbers, tips, and O-rings.
- Mount on the DCI 700 bench — run the Bosch automated test sequence.
- Generate and save full test report with pass/fail data.
- Advise repair, replacement, or calibration based on results.
- Recode or re-trim injectors if required before refit.
For Bosch injectors, we can even supply new QR or IMA coding so your ECU recognises exact calibration data.
FNQ’s only Bosch DCI 700 test facility
Our new bench makes Cairns Diesel Service the most advanced injector testing centre in Far North Queensland.
No more sending injectors south and waiting weeks — we can diagnose, report, and supply replacements right here in Cairns.
Whether it’s a Hilux, Ranger, Hino, John Deere, Case, or Isuzu engine, we can verify injector health accurately and quickly.
